 * Characters -- Earth Quadra Series *

The story follows the exploits and struggles of three individuals, which make up the security team, along with several other characters playing prominent roles, including the children. There are fifteen countries represented among the Infrastructure Team tasked with developing services and accommodations on the planet that was to be their original destination.

The Protagonist:

Although there are some ideological and personality conflicts between some of the main characters, the entire infrastructure team represents the protagonists in the series, as they support one another in their struggle to survive.

The Antagonist:

The wildlife, marine life, plant live and alien species inhabiting this planet and arriving from space, represents the many varied antagonists in the story.

The Story Line:

It is a story of survival, cooperation, conflict and loss. This will appeal to an international audience and does not rely on contact with corrupt governments or the military of any nation on earth. It is written for a family audience; and to adhere to the genre of futuristic science fiction for a family audience.

The Main Characters:

The story will focus primarily on the activities of three security personnel, which were tasked with keeping the infrastructure safe on the much more benign planet that was their original destination. Under equipped and with insufficient personnel, they must adapt to their surroundings in order to be successful.

The Supporting Characters:

The characters comprised of many nations and cultures bring the richness to the story line. They also provide their expertise in multiple scientific fields, such as Physics and Engineering, Botany and Biology, Geology, Paleontology and Medicine with the help of multiple technicians in various fields. The children of course provide the complication and the bond of the family unit.

THE INFRASTRUCTURE TEAM

Originally... The security team’s position was subservient to the scientists and engineers, with the job of aiding them while watching out for safety issues. Now... They must take the dominant role in regards to security, as this planet is deadly in more ways than they can count. Getting the PhDs to listen to them is a struggle all on its own.

The Security Team

Security personnel are task with keeping everyone safe from any real or perceived dangers. They are skilled paramedics and able to fight with any weapon available if necessary, to provide that security. They are the only ones that have committed to risk their lives in defense of others on this mission. And the dangers of this planet are far beyond what they signed up for.

Justin Iversen is from Canada and provides security for the group.  He’s in his late 40s, average build, 6’1” with short dark hair, and 200 lbs. He spent his 25-year career on Earth providing security for UN peacekeeping operations around the globe. He’s very capable and fearless, but also kind and understanding of people’s emotional state.

Diana Tynnen is from Ireland and speaks several languages. She is 32 years old, has shoulder-length red hair, is 5’3” and 120 lbs. A creative problem solver and will try unorthodox means to accomplish a task. She developed valuable skills as a Combat Medic for UN peacekeeping and humanitarian aide groups, and proficient in martial arts.

Nasir Hashim bin Abdulrahim Elsarout is Justin’s right hand man in security. He’s 37 years old, 6’2” and 220 lbs. with short black hair. He is quiet and soft spoken, but very dependable and professional. He is a combat medic and has spent 5 years with UN peacekeeping and 10 years in a Middle Eastern Special Forces unit.

The Scientists

Scientists form a general group but with specific abilities, such as soils, hydrology, computer programing, agrology, and atmospheric anomalies, all of which are critical to long-term survival of a colony to provide for itself.

Todd Martinez is a 42-year-old from Spain. He’s 5’9” and 190 lbs. with short dark hair. He’s a soils scientist who specializes in agrology and habitat design.

Michelle Villanou is from France.  She is very athletic, loves adventure and especially surfing. She is 29 years old, with long, dark-brown hair, is 5’9” and 150 lbs. Her additional fields of expertise are as an agrology and soils specialist and hydrological engineer.

Effy Mensala is a hydrology and soils specialist from Ghana. She is 31 years old and is  5’8” and 140 lbs., with short dark hair.

The Medical Team

Medical professionals are skilled in preserving life under adverse circumstances. They have full analytical and diagnostic technology to develop synthetic antiviral medicines, specifically designed for an individual’s DNA.  They include two surgeons, a toxicology and virology specialist, and a general practitioner who is the neurological professional and the team councilor.

Kristen Compton is a 40-year-old female from England. She’s 5’10” and 150 lbs. She has a doctorate in psychology and neurobiology and is one of the team leaders and the team's counselor. She is also the mother of 10-year-old Tevin.

Nadia Josephus is a Native American doctor from SW, USA. She specializes in bacterial infections and the human immune system. She is strong-willed, but quiet and professional. Nadia is 36 years old; with long, dark hair; 5’7” and 160 lbs. Additional areas of expertise are neurologist, specialist in toxicology, and alternative healing.

Hossain Kahndar is from India and is 47 years old. He’s 6’2” and 210 lbs. He is the chief physician for the group. He specializes in cardiovascular, spinal, and neurological surgery.

Hyun Lee is a toxicologist from Korea.  She is 31 years old and petite. She is a specialist in phytotoxicology, virology, herpetology, and antivenin research.

The Physicists

Physicists are the theoretical problem solvers, applying their expertise and wisdom to find ways around a problem and are skilled in many areas of science.

James Doulan is a 42-year-old physicist and mining engineer from Brazil. He’s one of the group leaders and very resourceful, 5’11” and 180 lbs.

Michael McTier is from Scotland. He is very creative but like many geniuses, can sometimes be absent-minded. He is 43 years old; and has very short-gray hair, slightly balding. Is 5'10" and 190 lbs. He is a physicist and mechanical engineer. Married to Wendy, his son is Davis, and is a stepdad to Sean.

Victor Bryon is the old timer. He’s a 58-year-old physicist and chemical engineer from Texas, USA; is 5’10” and 220 lbs. He’s a jack-of-all-trades and provides wisdom and good advice to the less experienced in many aspects of life. Additional expertise in mechanical engineering and electronics systems design.

Scott Evers is from Georgia, USA.   He is very confident in his scientific knowledge and physical abilities; and an experienced mountaineer. He’s a quick thinker and very creative, 34 years old, with short, light-brown hair, is 6’4” and 255 lbs., with a muscular build.  His additional fields of expertise are as a physicist, mechanical engineer, and holographic design specialist.

The Engineers

Engineers are responsible for building all new technologies that the team require in order to survive the threats that this planet brings. They come with incredible technologies that help them mine for metals and fabricate virtually anything that is dreamt up. Their skill sets include mining, manufacturing, fabricating, electronics, robotics, communication, and chemistry.

Wendy Bariso is from New Zealand. She is the mother of Sean, and stepmom of Davis. Calm, reserved, and very much the motherly type; she is appreciated by the younger ladies in the group. She is 38 years old; with shoulder-length, blond hair. Is 5'7” and 155 lbs. Her expertise is as a geophysicist and electrical engineer. And married to Michael.

Katherine Kostya is from Russia. She’s a petite female who is very intelligent and capable in electronic design. Mother of a 9-year-old girl named Lizzie; she is 37 years old; with long, light-blond hair. Is 5’2” and 115 lbs. She is an electronics and communications engineer. And married to Frank.

Frank Olsen is a 47-year-old Norwegian who is a mining and structural engineer. He is married to Katherine Kostya and father of Lizzie.

The Technicians

Technicians are invaluable as they provide the muscle and problem solving techniques to ensure that the theory of the physicists and the designs of the engineers are practical and workable in a real environment.

Jeffrey Daniels is 29 years old, is 6’ and 145 lbs. with strawberry blond hair. He's an electronics, communications and robotics specialist, as well as an AMCD pilot from New Zealand. He’s fun-loving and reliable but demonstrates rapier wit in put-downs of some of the PhDs.

Rob Laselle is from France.  He is friendly and witty, always quick to help out and a genius with robotics technology. He is 30 years old, with medium-length, dark-blond hair, 6’0” and 185 lbs. His additional fields of expertise are as a robotics engineer and holographic specialist.

Jessie Marshelli  is from Italy. The youngest scientist in the group at age 23. A comical character, musically talented with various instruments, and loves to entertain the group in humorous ways. He is also a master at judo, with short, light-brown hair, is 6’0” and 170 lbs. His additional fields of expertise as an electronics and robotics technician and an AMCD pilot.

Dahwayne Crausin is from Germany. He is a 48-year-old computer programmer and digital systems specialist, with brown hair, is 6’1” and 230 lbs. Dahwayne likes to think he knows it all and his propensity for offering his opinion on subjects he is lacking in, continually demonstrates that he doesn’t!

The Botanists

Botanists are tasked with discovering and cataloging, edible, non-edible, and poisonous species of plant life. They are continuously occupied with the wondrous variety on this planet, and wary of the incredible threat that many of them pose.

Ida Ming is an Asian Canadian from Quebec, 34 years old, 5’8” and 140 lbs. with degrees in botany and soil science and is a field medic. She is a hot-tempered vegan that has a problem with taking orders from the security team and that plays a role in her interaction with some others in the group.

Gord Rutters is from England.  He is very likable and reliable but can be overly focused on his work and not aware of dangers around him. He enjoys fencing with a foil and saber. He is 38 years old, with light-brown hair, 5’10” and 200 lbs. His additional fields of expertise are as a botanist, plant geneticist,  and pilot.

Adrian Liesela is from Germany. He is an intense and sensitive person, but also reserved with his emotions.  He likes to tease and make fun of short people, which gets him into trouble. He is 34 years old; with short, dark hair, 6’2” and 205 lbs. His fields of expertise are botany, agrology, and micro-form pathology specialist.

Cathy Robinson is a fun loving 29-year-old botanist from California, who is very athletic and loves to surf.  She specializes in genetic engineering of agricultural crops. She is  5’10”and 135 lbs., and has long dark hair. 

The Paleontologists

A paleontologist accompanied the team to analyze any remains of long dead lifeforms that may have once inhabited the planet of their original destination.

Don Tiriaq is an Inuit Caucasian from Alaska, USA.  He's a paleontologist and anthropologist that is experienced in remote wilderness survival. A very likable and entertaining person, with a positive outlook on life. Don is 36 years old; with light-brown hair, 5'10” and 190 lbs. Additional fields of expertise are archaeology and a pilot.

The Biologists

Biologists provide advice on dealing with the animal and insect species on the planet, what to avoid and how to defend against aggressive species. But on an unknown planet as hostile as this one, all bets are off.

Dave Darwe is from NWT, Canada. He is experienced in wilderness survival and remote living conditions. He’s very reliable and his knowledge about predators will be useful for this group. He is 35 years old; with short, dark-brown hair. Is 5’11” and 200 lbs. Also a biologist, paramedic, life form geneticist, and entomologist.

Tanya Stasiuk is from New Jersey, USA with a Ukrainian background and a doctorate in exobiology,  and is a paramedic. She is strong willed, outspoken, quick-witted and a temper to match; very reliable, especially in stressful situations. She's 34 years old; shoulder-length, blond hair, 5’2” and 150 lbs. Her expertise is in biological genetics and entomology.

The Geologists

Geologists provide information on landforms, minerals, volcanism and tectonic activity that might affect the survival of the team and future outpost for the colonists that arrive later.

Shannon Dickson has Aboriginal and English ancestry, from Australia. And is the mother of a five-year-old daughter named Casey. As her husband died before her daughter was born, she is very independent. She is 33 years old, with long, dark hair, 5’7” and 150 lbs. Her expertise is as a geologist and anthropologist.

Kunis Albertsen is Cree Norwegian from Canada.  Works as a geologist and volcanologist. She is serious and intelligent as well as very talented violinist, and a great swimmer. She is 42 years old, with shoulder-length, dark hair, 5’11” and 170 lbs. Additional fields of expertise are geophysicist and chemical engineer.

Amber Marchand is from Oregon, USA. She's an expert in wilderness survival and mountaineering. She is 33 years old; with long, light-brown hair, is 5’9” and 155 lbs. Her expertise is as a geologist and habitat development specialist.

Mary MacDonald  is a geologist from Eastern Canada. She is 5'4" and 29 years old.  Her expertise is in  geology and is a volcanologist.

Casey Dickson is the daughter of Shannon from Australia.   Casey is 5 years old; with dark-brown hair, a very likable little girl with a secret. 

Tevin Compton is the son of Kristen from England. Tevin is 10 years old; very adventuresome, and a prankster. 

Sean Bariso is the son of Wendy from New Zealand.  Sean is 11 years old; very creative and smart for his age. 

Lizzie Kostya is the daughter of Katherine from Russia. Lizzie is 9 years old; with long, blond hair tied in a ponytail. 

Davis McTier is the son of Michael from Scotland. He is 12 years old.
